Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled. (v. 6)
Here is quite the promise! Here Christ is promising that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, those who strive, those who desire righteousness as they would desire food and water will be filled. God will fill us. He won’t just let such a desire, such a need remain unsatiated. Are you truly thirsting for righteousness, thirsting for God? Are you worried that this desire isn’t enough, that those around you will quench it, that you don’t have enough support? Don’t worry! When you have such a desire, God will fill it! Go to God with the boldness of Christ and claim this promise! Tell God of your thirst! Tell God of your yearning! Claim God’s promise to fill you! This promise is yours! But first you must claim it!
